Chocolate From Australia — Maltesers — No Ordinary Chocolate!

Maltesers from Mars, Incorporated (Captured by camera)

Today...

was the ELEVENTH day of my journey. It marked the end of this really bustling week. Thank you God! I was really tired completing all the school works, especially that 5-page critical assessment paper due on the day before. AND! I am so delighted and excited right now because I will be getting to see my parents tonight! They are coming for my brother's graduation ceremony. I have not seen my parents since January 5 this year. I have been waiting for four and a half months! This is way too long for me. I miss my parents so much.
So, on this beautiful Thursday afternoon, I tasted another favorite of mine — Maltesers, another product from Mars, Incorporated. This was just too great for my day.

Its History — Maltesers:
Maltesers were created by Forrest Mars, Sr. in the year 1936, and originally known as "Energy Balls". The current name is a portmanteau of the words "malt" (one of the main ingredients) and "teasers." The present Maltesers' slogan is "The lighter way to enjoy chocolate". Earlier slogans have included "No ordinary chocolate", "Nothing pleases like Maltesers", and "The sweet with the less-fattening centre". The Australian version also contains the line: "Made in Australia......Exported to the world." In the 1930s, advertisements claimed that the Maltesers' honeycomb center is seven times less fattening than ordinary chocolate centers, this made marketers claim it was beneficial for weight loss.

As a whole, my mind was just filled with this: "Why on earth can there exist such healthy and tasty chocolate?" I was so shocked to read that its honeycomb center is seven times less fattening that ordinary chocolate centers. I have really fell in love with it because of this reason and its crispiness. Besides, although its price is not that low, however, I think its still worth to purchase.

  1. Hi Li Sharon Janice,
Your blog looks really great. I am very jealous of all the chocolate that you get to taste. I really like how you describe the different chocolates that you are tasting. While I don't want you to change anything that you have done so far I do want to suggest some changes for your future entires, so that you are not doing so much work. First, keep your description of the chocolate and what you think about it. Maybe, give each chocolate that you taste a score like 2 out of 5 or 3 stars out of 5. That way your reader knows how the different chocolates compare to one another. Also, from reading your blog it seems like the most important information for each chocolate is its ingredients. So, focus on listing the ingredients and forget about the nutritional information. The nutrition information does not seem all that relevant to your experiment, but how the chocolate tastes and what is in it certainly does matter, so focus on blogging about those items.

Keep up the good work. I'm excited to read what you think about the Maltesers. They are one of my favorites!
